Finally summer

We feel like we've just been so busy that we haven't really had a summer yet. So we've decided to make an extra effort to enjoy summer and not let it pass us by. Plus we now have a new reason to start some fun family traditions.
Yesterday we did the pool thing. Hannah and I each had a friend there. It was very relaxing and Hannah used up all her energy by 7pm. She crashed and I didn't hear from her until 7am.
Today we met some friends at the YMCA and hung out at the splash pad. Then we came home and picked up Matt and went red raspberry picking. We were going to head to the pool after that but it was so hot and Hannah was (understandably) getting grumpy so we just came home.

So here is Hannah eating in her long sleeved swim suit. She looks so grown up in this picture. Those curls are adorable.

Hannah is loving her sweet potatoes and peas.

Matt worked hard picking 3.5 lbs of red raspberries!

Hannah and I lasted about 10 minutes and we went to the car. It was only about 95 degrees with an ozone watch today!

We cleaned up and Hannah giggled at her daddy for a while. Then asleep again at 7pm.

I love her sleeping from 7pm to 7am. She's been doing this for about two weeks now. My only issue now is her napping. I cannot figure out a schedule for her. She used to just go down for a nap so easily, now she cries pretty hard for about 10-15 minutes. I'm not sure how much to force the issue. It is too much to expect two 1hr naps when she sleeps 12 hours? Any opinions would be welcome.

abby- congratulations on your baby girl. she is so precious. I have been following your blog for a little while. Not that I am a sleep expert, but I totally adore sleep schedules. Have you tried the 2-3 hour thing? I am not sure if you have read "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" I had to do a little "crying it out" for a little bit. I maybe would try that. She might just be a little overtired, and probably really does need the naps. I think a child at her age should be sleeping more than just 12 hours a day, although I am super jealous that she goes from 7-7 so early. Cade took a little longer. Sorry for the long post. But, thought this book might help.

Love all the new posts! On the subject of sleep, I think she should still take two naps a day too... at least 1-2 hours each. You might have to do a little coercing.. :) But, Wyatt had a really hard time ever being consistent with his 2 naps. Henry was so easy. Wyatt never really napped consistently well until he was about 10 months and I just stopped giving him morning naps. Now he's a champ. Even tho she is sleeping 12 hours, I would think she should still take good daytime naps. Try laying her down for a nap before she seems tired.. sometimes that would help my boys. Then they might play happily and just doze off. Good luck!!
