October 21, 2008

That was the date of our first official homestudy visit. We went through Lutheran Social Services so the process is usually long. They kept encouraging us to slow down (slow down?!, how is 3 months too fast?) because they said doing the homestudy would be better than just waiting. Fortunately we both disagreed with that, and got all the necessary tests, paperwork, and home visits done in a month and a half. The other month and a half until we were officially on the list was how long it usually takes for them to write the 50 page homestudy. Praise the Lord Matt and I were both pushing this process faster then they wanted because we would not have been shown to Hannah's birth mom because we would not have been approved yet! I think Matt and I would have been shocked, stunned, floored, freaked out had someone told us that one year from our first visit, we would have an almost 9 month old!
We take snacking very seriously in this house.

I never got a picture of her looking at the camera. The mum was too exciting.
