We had a busy weekend, we watched basketball and football, we had a company party, we hung out with friends and family, I went to my first auction (it was so cool), we served lunch in the inner city, and we ate a lot of food (specifically corn flake wreaths Matt made).
The auction was at a local, large Christian bookstore and there were hundreds of people crammed into a not large building. The auctioneer held up a cardboard box full of Veggie Tales kids CD's. So I bid on it and won about 15 CDs for $15. I'm thinking I got a pretty sweet deal. They were brand new, still in the packaging so I thought I could use them as gifts.
Upon closer inspection, I notice that each CD says, "Made especially for Ryan (or Taylor, Sidney...)". I cracked up. Now I have 15 personalized CDs where Larry and Bob sing the child's name. It goes something like this "Ryan, if you're happy and you know it clap your hands." We thought it might be hilarious to give the CD to Hannah and then just act like that's how the song really goes. I have a couple for Ryan, Hailey, Sindey, Taylor, McKenzie, Emily and Jaden. So if anyone out there wants one, just send me your address!
I also got a coffee pot and a percolator for $5. I wasn't able to be there in time for the furniture, which is what I really wanted.
Hannah tasted kiwi fruit and oranges this weekend, loving both. She is talking even more, which we didn't think was possible. She all of a sudden fits into 12 month clothing (length wise) and she is working hard on crawling. She can get on all fours and go backwards, which is a start!
Friday night we babysat our neighbors two little boys so I got the experience of feeding and parenting three kids. I'll be honest, it made me excited to add more to our family:)
Last week Hannah got her hair put in puffs and braided with barrettes. Hannah didn't like it much during napping and bedtime so I had to take them out. And I didn't like much how they looked either. I felt like she just looked too different. You'll have to let me know what you think.
Hannah and her dad checking out the newly fallen snow Saturday morning.
Hannah opened up her first Christmas present this morning from Ama and Captain (my parents). It is a toy bin from Target. Just what she wanted! I was tired of the toys being stored in old diaper boxes so we taught Hannah to rip open presents. She got the hang of it after a while. We definitely got it all on video and camera. Thanks Ama and Captain!
