Let your life be full of grace

Today I found a small print with the words "Let your life be full of grace" which will be hung beside our front door as a reminder that when we leave our home, to be full of grace to those we meet.
And grace is what we need in moments like these. Moments when we meet with a 17 year old birth mom who so badly wants to keep the baby she has been nourishing and protecting for almost 9 months. Moments when we meet an upset grandmother who is pushing her teenage granddaughter to place the baby with a family because she knows that is what's best. Moments when Matt and I sit there and are yet again hit with the realization that along with joy, adoption brings pain.
As I sit here reflecting our our meeting, fresh tears are brought to the surface and I am reminded that this could get messy, yet this is God's will for us.
We aren't any closer to knowing how this is going to turn out, but what we do know is that in all circumstances, we are going to try to let our lives be full of grace.
Adoption can be tough and painful, and abundantly rewarding. And we have only yet begun.

My prayers are with you as I know what you are feeling. Adoption is the most wonderful gift God has ever given my family, but I also remember the pain of another who out of great love made a plan for her child.
Blessings,
Carrie
