Pictures with captions

This is a picture of three things.....
1) Olivia's scowly face.
2) My awesome roots. I stopped highlighting my hair over a year ago so now you can see how much my hair has grown in a year.
3) Olivia's chubby arms. Cute enough to eat.

This is a picture of two things...
1) How I feel about Olivia being my daughter.
2) How Olivia feels about me being her mother.

This was Olivia being super cute. She was smiling a second before this. I need a faster camera.

This is what I got when I was trying to take a picture of Hannah last night. She wouldn't sit or stand still for even a second until I asked her to stop and smile......

....then this is the picture I got. What a goofball.

This is a picture of how sentimental I get when I realize that I have been blessed with two beautiful daughters. I often remember wondering if I would ever get to be a parent.

This is Hannah and Olivia in their matching dresses. Notice the purse.
The phrase "she's all girl" and "he's all boy" crack me up because I'd like the meet the parent that states their child is "half boy" or "a third girl." All of that to say, Hannah loves purses and shoes was like her fourth word. So she's got some girl in her.
Sometimes when I read other people's blogs whose kids are around Hannah's age, I compare them (I shouldn't, I know). Hannah always measures physically and verbally about 2-3 months behind. Who knows about emotionally, I think she's 15 in that category. So maybe she's not exactly on track with her milestones, however, here are some stories that prove she is a total goofball...
1. She put on a baseball hat, then put it over her eyes and ran into a wall. Which was hilarious so she kept walking around the upstairs with her eyes covered running into everything and giggling hysterically.
2. If she doesn't get the food that she wants, she puts her hands together to pray about it.
3. Hannah toots, then giggles like crazy, then mimics the sound (who taught her this??).
4. Matt tried to kiss Olivia tonight and Hannah intercepted the kiss with her face and said "hi."
5. Whenever I turn on the disposer, she growls.
6. Hannah points at dogs and barks. Then she points at geese and barks. And at cats, penguins, sea lions and giraffes. I'm guessing she doesn't really understand.
7. She still loves peekaboo! How is that still funny? We might be playing it at high school graduation.

hilarious. SO cute those girls...and i LOVE those shoes in the shoe picture, the wedge ones from target. are they a couple years old? i wore them to death, literally, they died. now i pretty much wear all ugly flip flops and my toenails look horrific. sad. and kaiya loves peekaboo. she's 20 months, so.....expect the trend to continue.

She is TOTALLY on track. I have had four kids - all of them did different things at different times. One was textbook, one was way advanced, two were always behind. All are brilliant in their own way.

#6 is called hypercategorizing if I remember my early childhood ed correctly. All 4 legged creatures are dogs, all women are mommies, all men are daddies. All children do this as their brains are learning how to sort and label objects.

She's perfect. :-)

I really hope you aren't comparing anything to my recent update, because all that was was a way to make myself feel better about how terribly my kid is behaving. Believe me, we have plenty of issues -- most on the emotional maturity plane, in fact. Score one for Hannah! :) Your girls are both perfect, and I loved the shoe picture. Sometimes I forget how blessed I am to be a mom, especially on the hard days, so thanks for the very timely reminder.
