I wanted a small desk to put in our sunroom for my laptop and other paperwork.
So I bought this desk off Craig's List for $40.
I primed it and painted it Benjamin Moore Grey Wisp also known as Restoration Hardware's Silver Sage (the color that was going to go in my kitchen but I decided was too gray). I got two new drawer pulls and need two more. I'll get them eventually. It looks really blue in this picture but I think that's from the flash.
Now I just need to paint the ceiling in the sunroom and I can check another room off my list!
We have now established a "cry chair" in our house. Hannah expresses all emotion through crying (I think I may have mentioned this before). During lunch if she wants more kiwi fruit and I want her to eat her sandwhich first, she cries. If she doesn't want her diaper changed, she cries, if she doesn't want her hair done she cries, if she wants to go downstairs and I'm going upstairs, you get the picture.
I can appreciate that she now has opinions about all this, but the crying is a little much. So I just tell her she is allowed to cry, she just needs to go sit in her chair until she is done. She is pretty good about it. I think yesterday I sent her to her chair about every 10 minutes. It was a rough day.

the desk turned out great! we love craig's list around here, too. i've sold a bunch of stuff AND purchased stuff. silver sage is what we did for Will in his room when he was born, and i loved it so much, i decided to put it in our new house for Graham's room as well. looks great on your desk ;-)
what a great idea - a cry chair. i'll have to remember that.
way to go on the desk sister! we just painted a dresser for reese's room that was rescued from the trash for my nieces-and then when they were about to trash it i took it and we painted it and are using it like it was new. :) agree on the arms. yum. and oh my-you are singing our song on the cry chair. i can't tell you how many times a day I say "you are welcome to keep crying, but...." you are such a good mama!!!!
