As I mentioned in a previous post, we have seen Cubs games, Colts games, IU football and basketball games, tons of high school games, a hockey game, arena football games and lots of concerts together. So we can add a PGA tour event to our list.
We got there late and I needed some ice cream and Abby needed some fries. We headed to McD's where we laughed a whole whole bunch.
We got up at 5:30am! in order to watch all the golfers at the driving range. We spent from approximately 7:45am until 6pm walking around a gorgeous golf course with gorgeous weather. Really it's not something I thought I would enjoy but we had a good time.
In fact, Phil Mickelson and I are now BFFs because I told him "nice drive" and he looked at me and said "thanks."
Wes and Abby left after the golfing and Matt and I had been planning to spend the night and spend the next day in Chicago. We needed to get away, just us together, as we have had some 19 crazy months. However (this is where fun Abby comes in), I started feeling really sick (feverish, stomach pain, and, um, a certain time.... (I think most of my readers are female, right?) ). So that night I asked Matt if we could just go home. I didn't want to do any shopping because real shopping needs money, I wanted my bed, I didn't want to have to spend money to eat out and truthfully, I don't heart Chicago.
Matt, slightly annoyed with me, convinced me we needed to stay, as we had already paid for our hotel.
Luckily I woke up the next morning feeling much better. I was even able to get on the treadmill, although I felt like a truck had run over my head.
So the good news is that Matt and I ended up having a ton of fun today, I actually did buy a new purse and some running shorts. We loved being together and just talking and laughing. We reconnected as a couple and said so many things at the same time (we are really hilarious, really). As we drove across the state line and mentioned just how good it is to be home again in Indiana and see some farms and cows and we couldn't wait to see our girls, we even mentioned how perfect we are together because we love being home.
It is so wonderful to get away and so wonderful to get back to our beautiful girls!
Our cameras and cell phones were confiscated at the PGA event so I have no proof we were there. But I can prove we were at Navy Pier for a few minutes.....
Oh, I did get my hair cut a few weeks ago if anyone noticed.
