Not good pictures

Neither one of these are very good pictures. Sweet girl has no time for the camera. Although my friend had an idea to capture her little mover by getting him to say cheese, which I thought was genius. Hannah says cheese. Not looking at the camera. Hmm, I guess she doesn't get it.
Anyhow, both of these pictures have a story. The top picture...
Hannah put her baby in the carseat, put it over her arm, grabbed my keys, kissed me bye and tried to leave. Uh oh. She really is watching my every move. I should be more careful.

This picture....
I am working on giving Hannah choices. And on giving up absolute control of her life (ahh!). I think it's important for kids to be able to make choices in life because they only get harder, and a kid can only learn to make choices by practicing. Every morning I show her two cereal boxes and she gets to choose. Oh my how she loves to make that choice. The joy on her face is adorable when she realizes that she is in control at that moment. Today, I thought we would take another step and I would let her choose her outfit (gasp!). She immediately walked to her closet and picked out this sassy number. I looked at her and said "Hannah are you sure." She nodded *very* emphatically. That's my girl!

You might remember this dress from last year. Hard to believe she still fits in 9 month clothing. In fact, many of the shorts/skirts she wears are still 9 months. Nana accidently put her in Olivia's diaper today. It fit. My tiny little firecracker.
I texted my mom a picture of Hannah in her dress and that she picked it out and mom's response back warmed my heart, "Not only does she have good taste but the more you tell me about her the more I think you are raising your twin! What a blessing!" (By this she means I'm getting repaid for what I put my parents through.)
Funny, it's like God knows what He's doing.

In Olivia news, we had her 4 month check up today. Although she looks pretty squishy, she is not. She weighs 12lbs 8oz. Her height and weight are both in the 25th percentile. The nurse was actually shocked by this and said, "she must just put it all in her cheeks."

We gave started her on some rice cereal the other day just because she ate 11ozs of formula one night.

We had small group tonight and I didn't get to put my girls to bed. Why does that hurt a little bit? I can't be here every moment. And I certainly don't want to be sometimes. But bedtime routine is a treasure. The snuggles, the kisses, the stories, the rocking, the praying.
Every.single.night. during this time I am in wonder at the plan the Lord has layed before us with these girls.

This post is random and I'm tired.

I think that's a lovely choice of outfits, actually! Ava's are always scary. 12 lbs is a pretty little peanut! Reese weighed 16 lbs at 4 months. Chunker. Love seeing your cutie girls and hearing your random posts. :)

Well, it wasn't all that effective for me, either. You saw those pictures...

Bedtime is my precious time, too. We rock, read, pray, and sing every night, and when I miss out it hurts me, too. I often feel like that time together at night is my reward for surviving the day. :)
