Ready for baby #3!

Just kidding.
I painted our 4th bedroom. I had leftover paint from our kitchen and am slightly in love with the color. The color would work for both a girl and a boy (heck, even twins) and I'm bored (just kidding again). So whenever we go back on the list (still to be determined), we have a room painted. Of course this time it'll take like five years before we are placed with another baby and I'll want to change the color.
Also, with the help of my parents (thank you thank you!!), we planted three blueberry bushes, some bell peppers, jalenpeno peppers, tomatoes, spinach, butternut squash and zucchini squash.
Just call me a slighty younger, far less awesome Pioneer Woman.
The planting was something I decided that, because I am a wife and mom, I must need to learn how to plant and grow stuff. Also we eat so many blueberries, growing them has got to save me money.
In addition to all the stuff we planted, we already have a rhubarb plant, some red and black raspberries, a peach tree and green onions (which I made my dad tear out when they were here and it made the whole neighborhood smell like onions). So hopefully this year, I'll actually take the time to take care of all those plants and have a huge harvest.
Because I'm bored.
I must be bored because I stay at home. Right?
Ha. I don't actually have the guts to say this out loud when someone says this to me (yes, that has been said a few times, as recently as today), so I'll just write it because now I can just hide behind my blog.....
If you are a stay at home wife/mom, and you are bored, you don't have enough imagination/discipline/friends.

There, I said it.

Also, we don't have the space for a garden. I just planted everything in my landscaping. We do have huge amounts of landscaping (I think we had to buy almost 8 yards of mulch last year for it all), but if you don't have room for a garden, just get creative.*

The 4th bedroom (currently the guest room) just needs a second coat of paint and it will be done, which is a very exciting item to cross off my list. I only have 38 kajillion other things to do now. As I was painting the ceiling, I noticed the previous owners left lots and lots of dried sticky tack on the ceiling. Just par for the course in this house, I am noticing. Along with painted wallpaper over paint over wallpaper applied directly to wallboard (that was in two different rooms). Wallpaper on the ceiling, and of course rubber cement to glue the seams of the wallpaper down.

I am seeing the appeal of a new build. We contemplated building before we bought this house, but we didn't because it just wasn't us. However, the crap (also known as character) that we have dealt with in this house is starting to get old. We won't be moving any time soon. I just wanted to complain.**

The girls are waking up and we are getting audited by the IRS (we aren't criminals, just adoption stuff. We have to prove that we did indeed adopt twice in two years). I have some paperwork to do. I have been MIA lately and I might be MIA for the next few days too. I'll just be laying on the couch watching the soaps and eating twinkies.
Because I'm bored.

*We do have a big garden box from previous owners. However, only the west 10 feet of it get full sun which is where the blueberry plants are. So if you have been to our house and have seen the box, that is why I can't count that as (much) garden space.

**Thank you Lord for a warm house in the winter and a cool house in the summer. And room enough for our family and plus some.

wait, people say that you must be bored because you stay at home? and how can you paint? where are your kids? because mine would be bathing in the paint or possibly drinking it with a straw. what color was the paint? no further questions.

What qualifies one as a stay at home mom?

@anonymous - Good question. I work two days a week, about 18 hours and I would still consider myself a stay at home mom. So would working three days count? I don't know. I guess whatever you feel like calling yourself is what you are.
