Here's the thing I am realizing every day.
Nothing I do will accurately capture my babes in this moment.
How they walk, how they dance, how they look at me, their spitfire personalities, how much they make me laugh, their smiles, the way their hair smells minty, the way their skin smells coconutty.
I want to be able to re-live this moment right now. I wish at any point in the future, I could push a button and be here, squeezing their thighs and rocking them and bathing them and admiring their gorgeous skin and kissing them between the eyes and prompting giggles with eskimo kisses. But I can't. So I am trying to soak up every single moment in the present, knowing that while I will have thousands of pictures of their childhoods, those pictures won't even begin to capture who they are and what they mean to me.
Sidewalk chalk!
Notice: chalk on Hannah's nose and all over Liv's legs. I love a dirty, tired baby.
Notice: double fisting the chalk. Nothing makes Olivia happier than utensils/sticks/spoons in both hands.
Hannah mowing the sidewalk, distracted by a bumblebee. Also wearing her "party panties." I didn't know she went to parties and I certainly wasn't aware she had a panties for the occasion.
Beware: Liv, I will eat your thighs.
Unbiased mama: I could stare at this face all day.
Carrying a ball is very serious work.
Notice: dress. Lace straps + lace edging,+ bright yellow + child with perfect skin = best dress purchase in the world. Also, I have 100 more pics of Olivia walking away from me. Silly toddler.

Sweet Hannah has been trying to wash her hands in the toilet. I mistakenly thought we had established that toilets were gross and no! touch! I was wrong. She came out of the bathroom rubbing her hands on her arms. I said, "Hannah, how many times do I have to tell you to not wash your hands in the toilet??" (aside: ahh, the fun sentences of parenthood). Hannah said, "Mom, I was washing my arms."
I was making muffins today.....
Matt: Hannah, do you know the muffin man?
Hannah: Mmmm, I think so.
Matt: Well, he lives on Drury Lane.
Hannah: Oh, then yes.
Bedtime prayers.....
Matt: Hannah, do you want to pray?
Hannah: Yes, Ama, Captain, Nana, Papa, etc (naming all relatives she can think of including dogs is how she prays).....pause pause pause....
Matt: Anyone else?
Hannah: Buzz Lightyear.
Sigh (I literally just sighed). I enjoy parenting.

I second that motion! Keep up the posting! Also, did you SEE the picture of you playing corn hole at Abby's party? Your arms are so amazingly chiseled... I'll trade you some hair for that muscle.
LOVE this post...you are so right about soaking up every minute. It makes me sad to think that it will be gone someday.
The girls are adorable, as usual!!
I agree wholeheartedly. With all of it...sometimes I forget that it won't always be this way, and then it comes flooding back to me and I just want to sit on the floor and cry and rock my baby forever.
You capture these everyday moments with your girls beautifully.
