Ummmm, hello. I'm grumpy today. I don't like disobedience and discipline to be the first thing I deal with in the morning. That should wait until at least after my coffee and/or breakfast.
As we are counting down the days until winter, I am trying to be outside with the girls as much as possible. So we went to a local, and pretty awesome, splash pad/park.
Where my children should play on the very cool, very expensive fake grass and slides. Instead I end up with two whiney children who just want to swing and/or play in the dog water fountain (of which I have to push a button to get it to work.)
I don't push my children in swings at parks. Well, I do. But for only like five minutes. We have swings in our backyard. When we are at a state-of-the-art park, they need to be running and jumping on all the cool things like dinosaur skeletons.
After 40 minutes of children whining at me to push the button for the dog fountain (placed right next to the awesome splash pad, did I mention that?) and being whined at to push in swings (when we have swings at home, did I mention that?), we left.
Silly me expected to sit on a bench, drink my coffee and watch my children run themselves ragged around the gorgeous, fake-grassed park.
Since we were at the park like 2 hours less then I expected we would be, we ran some errands and ended up at ChickFilA to smooth over the grumpyness from all parties.
$18 later (which would be why we never, ever eat out for lunch because that is a ridiculous price to pay for a lunch), with chicken, diet coke, fries, and a peach milkshake in our tummies, we were all pretty happy.
It's a good thing the Lord doesn't only bless those who deserve it. After my attitude this morning, I certainly don't deserve more children. I'm glad He can forgive that.
Coming this evening.....pictures of Olivia and her new favorite thing. Oh, the suspense is killing you, I know it!

I considered taking Logan to the splash pad tonight myself. After reading your post, I changed my mind :)
