Trip to Australia

I loved this post by Akers of Love so much that I had to link it. Please go read and then let me know (those of you who have dealt with adopting after infertility) just how exactly accurate the analogy is!

Three and done. I ran my third and final marathon today. And not another PR. Disappointing. In fact, my marathon time today was almost exactly what my time a month ago was, just 20 seconds slower.

So, I officially retire marathons. To get better and faster, I would need to train more. I think a 3:43 is a great time for my two day a week training but I'm not willing to train any more than that. So why race a really really tough race when I'm not going to improve? (And feel so awful for two days afterwards?)

I will stick with half marathons. Those are fun. No matter what my time they are enjoyable to do, but it's a race that I can improve with minimal effort (I mean it takes effort, don't get me wrong, that sounds cocky but it's not. It just means I can work really hard two days a week and still see improvement, which to me, is the whole point). I'm not sore afterwards either.

I had three great experiences, but most of all, I got the shirts:)

Congrats on a race well run!! And thanks for bringing us the girls to love on - they are so adorable (that's my favorite word for them).

Hope everything's well at the Brandenberger house.

Love you all!!

Congrats! You have soo much potential and whenever the time is right even training 4 days a week (that's what i do) could help you easily PR at the marathon! But your times are super impressive already! I love the half distance - it's fun and much easier to do several a year :)
