Another family milestone

Well, we survived the family flu outbreak of 2011. It's the first flu Matt and I have had probably since high school or college, definitely since we've been married. We were talking about it and neither one of us could even remember the last time we had thrown up. It's also the first time either one of my girls have officially vomited (not counting all the spitting up they did as babies).
We were awakened by Hannah shouting, "Daddy!" at 1:30am Tuesday morning. I told Matt that she wanted him and he came back in the room and said, "Hannah threw up everywhere, I need your help."
Poor girl had even tried to clean it up with the roll of toilet paper we leave in her room with her potty. She just looked at her dad and said, "I....hiccuped" as she searched for the right word to use.
We put her on the floor in our room next to a bucket and told her to throw up in there the next time.
And she did! I was so proud of her! Of course also I was sorry for her (but very glad I didn't have throw up on my carpet).
Matt and I went back to bed not feeling very well either.
Matt lost his dinner around 4:45am.
I knew it was my turn soon, but it didn't happen until I went downstairs around 9am and saw in the sink my left over birthday cake from the night before. I had eaten a ton of it and put the rest in the sink. The second I laid eyes on my previously delicious peppermint chocolate ice cream cake, up it came. I don't want that cake ever again.
I started worrying about Olivia aroud 9:30am when she wasn't up.
Matt checked on her and found her sleeping in a bed full of vomit.
Matt's family brought by the applesauce, sprite, bananas, jello, and nausea injections.
We slept the whole day while the girls, being so resiliant, ran un-attended through the house, like they were perfectly fine, destroying my house.
They watched four movies while Matt and I groaned in agony on the couch.
8pm couldn't come fast enough and we finally put them to bed. We all woke up at 9am today feeling perfectly healthy. Praise the Lord.

The one thing that makes this all worth it? Last night when Matt was putting Hannah to bed, he told her to pray for us, we were sick.
This morning, the first thing Hannah said when we got up? "Daddy, I prayed for you and mommy."
That prayer, I think was Hannah's first time she prayed, by herself, to the Lord.
I get chills thinking about it.

We are all better now. I've only done about six loads of puke laundry.
Tonight during bath, Hannah sang, to the tune of Jingle Bells, "Livi stinks." Too hilarious to discipline.

Jonathan and I have had the flu at the same time... with a kid sick too! How horrible to be changing bedsheets for a puking kid when you're puking yourself!! Nasty! :) That's when you should be glad you live near parents!!!
