Productive Family Day

Remember us? It's been a while. Sorry.

Today was Matt's fall break and we had a lot to accomplish, so we started off right at a local breakfast joint. The times we've been there, I have gotten the veggie omelet. I swear they use a dozen eggs and a pound of butter. It's delicious.

Then, I was going to take a picture everywhere we went to document what we did, but then I didn't.

After breakfast we went to the police station to get our local criminal history for our homestudy update. When we were there, we realized we could vote early.
So we voted (along with every other teacher around here). Betcha can't guess who for.
Then we dropped off our criminal history at our adoption agency, along with pictures for Olivia's birthmom Miss R.
Next we drove to the BMV and I got my license renewed. Apparently I needed it done when we changed addresses in 2008. But who wants to do that? (By the way, my wait time was 3min 40secs, way to go Indiana!)
Kroger was our next stop for milk and candy for Matt's students.
Then we headed to Marshall's because the girl's had done such a good job with all the waiting in lines, we let them play with the toys and run around the store. Sorry Marshall's employees, we tried to clean everything up.
Lastly, we went to a neighborhood gym to sign the girls up for gymnastics (starting Monday, so exciting!).
We got home and ate lunch, which consisted of a sliced banana with peanut butter. Seriously, the girls just eat it up and it's so simple, why don't I do simple foods like that more? I like to complicate things too much.

The girls wouldn't stop fighting or crying after lunch so Matt and I took them into separate rooms and read them books. I almost fell asleep reading Princess Grace to Olivia so I put her to bed around 1:15 and then crashed myself.

Hannah and Olivia are sharing rooms again. It's been about two weeks now and they love it! They are so good with napping and bedtime! We have a little air mattress that is on the floor of Liv's room and they take turns sleeping in the bed and on the mattress. They both love the air mattress because it's kid sized and it's almost like a raft so it's very cozy. We had to make the decision that Hannah sleeps on it on even days and Olivia sleeps on it on odd days just because they were fighting over it too much.

Olivia loves talking about Deedee going night night in her room. We review it first thing in the morning, "Mommy, deedee night night, here." And she points to the bed or the floor, wherever Hannah is. Then we talk about it again at breakfast, again before nap, "Mommy, deedee night night, me?" Yes, sweetheart, she is going to nap in your room. She makes sure we review it again several times after nap and then she further confirms it before bedtime. I had forgotten how much two year olds like to talk about the same things over and over:)

Hannah also loves it. She is sooo good about not waking up Olivia during naptime. Hannah doesn't sleep as long as Olivia so she just stays in bed and looks at a book and waits for me to come get her.

Don't get the wrong impression, we've had plenty of times where I have had to go upstairs and lay down the law, but more often than not, they quiet right down and go to sleep.

We have a big weekend ahead too, Matt and I are participating in a Big Brothers Big Sisters 5K Run/Walk tomorrow with our Little and the girls. I'm going to run as fast as I can:) And Matt is going to walk (due to his torn ACL) with our Little and the girls in a double stroller. That will turn out very interesting.

Then....more plans....but I will post about them afterwards.....maybe sometimes in November:)
