We skimmed through a book called Baby Wise to get more of an idea about scheduling and stuff. I think we got a good grasp of things. One of the nice things about this happening so quickly is that we didn't have time to read tons and tons of books (which I totally would have done) which I think would have been counterproductive. After all, the human race has survived thousands of years (yes, I'm a creationist), it's not that complicated, right?
M was able to come home on Friday morning, I picked him up at about 8am and he was excited to see H. He missed her already!
Here is a picture of M feeding Hope Friday afternoon with his hospital bracelet on and his leg elevated.
That first week we had tons of visitors, M's sister and brother in law came in for the weekend, my mom and dad came in for a few days, and we had a parade of friends stopping by every few hours. We had a matress on the floor in the living room for M to sleep, we had people and stuff everywhere. It was a very fun/stressful/exciting few days. We were grateful for the experience.
In fact a few people asked us if they could come over, if were weren't too overwhelmed. We both thought, if we can handle all this, we can handle anything!

This is a picture of the room we chose for H. Previous owners liked Veggie tales and were generous enough to leave us the matching bedding! Which is now painting dropcloths. And they left us a super-glued on wall of cork. Who does that?
This is the "after" photo. After my mom and I spent a few hours peeling one layer of cork off, spackeling over the other layer, priming over Bob the tomato and Larry the cucumber, priming over the chalkboard paint, and painting the woodwork, walls and ceiling. Much improvement!
And this is me, trying to preserve some perspective on how tiny my little girl is. She won't be so tiny for long!
