I'm not offended, I'm just not willing to qualify my relationship with Hannah every time someone asks me if she's mine. So yes, she's mine. End of story. God gave her to us, just like he gave every one of us our kids.
We are proud we adopted Hannah. And we are willing to tell our story. I just don't want Hannah to have to hear this every....single.....time.....we go to a store.

hang in there abby. you may want to come up with a one-liner to give people when they ask. and eventually it will give her an example with how to respond to people. it certainly seems like an insensitive question. hopefully they follow up their silly question with telling you how cute she is :)
