I'm even more mommish then ever.....

I have a hair appt today. And a picture of a *really* short hair style. Yikes. I'm VERY nervous. I might look like a boy (Jeb or Wade, take your pick). My husband has been wanting me to cut my hair off for quite some time. I've asked him over and over again if he's sure and he's sure that he's annoyed that I keep asking. Men don't understand about women's hair. I'll post pictures as soon as I'm ready. Which might not be any time soon.
In other news, we had one of our follow up home studies yesterday. It really wasn't a big deal. She asked Hannah's length and weight. She asked about her napping (3-4 2 hour naps), her eating habits (every 3 hours), her fussiness (7pm every night for about 30 minutes), her sleeping (6-8 hours a night), her voice recognition (she knows us!), and how Matt and I have adjusted to having a baby.
All in all, I think Matt and I adjusted well. We've had our disagreements (when I'm trying to be too controlling) but considering how our life changed in one day, I think we've handled it beautifully (with God's grace).
Hannah is continuing to sleep through the night. And she has continued to demonstrate her rolling over ability. She almost rolled over from her back to tummy yesterday but didn't quite get there.
I finally have some wall decorations up in her room. I bought the letters in her name and told Matt yesterday that I really wanted to hang Hannah. Meaning the letters, not our daughter. And we finally have the window treatments up so her room is just about done. The only thing yet to do is hang the gorgeous quilt my grandma Lett made for her. I am going to take pictures and post them because I think her room is adorable.
As mentioned Hannah has a Dr's appt on Monday. Here are my list of questions. Feel free to let me know what you think the answers are, I'd love any advice!
1. Can we get her ears pierced? We think it's adorable.
2. She loves to nap for 2 hours on her tummy, is this ok?
3. She spits up a lot. Not a big deal, but it most often comes out her nose and she gets formula boogers. For 3 hours after she eats, unless she's sleeping on her tummy, she is grunting, whining, coughing, sneezing, gagging and clearing her throat. Is this normal?
4. Now that she's getting older, how often should I feed her and how many naps for how long should she be taking?
5. Is is ok that I hold her during her fussy time? It makes her stop, but am I just creating a downward spiral of fussiness?
6. She has an umbilical hernia. I'm not going to lie, it creeps me out. I can hear/feel the fluid swishing in and out of it. I just try to avoid touching it. That's not a question, just a statement.
7. Are there any other questions I should ask? I don't feel like I know enough to know what to ask. Can the Dr come live with us? Is that valid?
Thanks for letting me ramble. I'm going to go to the other computer now and upload some pictures.

abs, can't wait to see pics of the hair cut. i am SURE it will look cute. before i cut my hair short about a year ago i asked tim if he cared about the possibility of me looking like a boy and he asked, "well are you going to stop wearing cute clothes and make-up?... i am sure it will look nice." when you are ready - it will be fun to see a picture. welcome into the cute-short-hair-mom club. :)

oh and i have no idea about those questions - sounds good to me.

if your pedi okays ear piercing do it now! i wish i did since now there is no way she will handle something in her ears that she isn't used to (she as in makenna). our pedi did ear piercing. i should have done it:( maybe makenna would have looked more like a girl at a young age.

Cute blog!!! And cute hairstyle as well~you know that you wear short hair so well even though you don't like it as much!!!And since you asked... Dr. Adams should give you a sheet on the development when you go~ if Hannah is gaining weight, you might be able to stretch her feeding schedule to every 4 hrs instead of 3. I think that feeding sort of stays the same until around 5-6 months, when they encourage us to get them to 3 meals a day w/ maybe one additional formuala feeding. Also, just my personal opinion, but I think you should feel free to hold Hannah during her fussy times! I am all about schedules and routines, but she'll grow out of this stage and you'll be happy that you had extra cuddle time!!! If she is unhappy about something and mommy calms her down~ go for it!!! Glad things are going so well for you. Hope I am not annoying with my opinions!

Hi! I'm Kristi's sister-in-law and clicked on your blog from hers. Your daughter is BEAUTIFUL! We have a preemie ourselves, and YES the grunting, sneezing, gagging, etc. is totally normal---at least that's what we've been told! Preemies are noisy people : )

2. I slept my babies on their tummies by time they were 7 weeks... I think it is OK and they always slept better that way! I'd start their naps like that first... to make sure I could tell if they could get their heads around. I asked my doctor... who I love. She said accd to the pedi assoc, she would say no tummy. But then she looked me right in the eye and said, "you're the mom. i trust you know what is best.." :)
4. my kids took 3 naps up until about 6 months... then down to two until about a year.
5. have you heard of the book called "happiest baby on the block" by Harvey Karp. it's the complete opposite of Babywise. I read them both and loved mixing the perspectives. It was the perfect blend. You should definitely get it and read it in addition to Babywise. I liked Babywise for the schedule and the Happiest Baby book for the love :)

I always asked people lots of questions and still do! :) She is looking beautiful!
