10

Hannah B is 10 weeks old today. Hannah, we didn't even know you existed 10 weeks ago! What a joy you have been to parent. You have the cutest expressions. We are fascinated by your baby sounds and your tiny feet. We love making your hair stick up. We love reading you Bible stories. We can't wait to hear your laugh. We are excited to see who you will be someday. I hope you'll be a nurse, your dad wants you to be a hard worker, and your dad's second graders think you'll be a super star.
What were we doing 10 weeks ago....I think I worked all day and then went grocery shopping to prepare for the poker party we were going to have at our house the next night. I know for sure I had spoken with my mom the night before, expressing my sadness (there were probably tears) over how tough our years of infertility had been. We were tired of waiting, tired of hoping and tired of disappointment. We were tired of the daily choice we had to make to give our control over to God. One thing we learned is that no one (that means you) is in control of their fertility. So many things we do every day, plans we make, choices we make, where we think we're in control.....
And last night, trying my control thing again, already worried about how to go about "getting/making/receiving" a second child. I just had to take a deep breath and realize, however this child may or may not come about, God is in control of it. We may get another surprise like we did with Hannah. We may get pregnant. It may be five years, it may be one year. All I know is that it is a daily choice to give my "plans" to God. His ways so are much higher then our ways. And little Hannah bear was worth it!
Hannah is sleeping great, 9pm-7am. This makes for well-rested parents!
Enjoy the Easter celebrations. Matt and I have been learning so much from our BSF study this year of Moses. What a blessing it is that Jesus was the final sacrificial Lamb.
