Friday night we went to the Tincaps game with Matt's family. Minus his mom and Hannah. They did craft time instead.
Saturday morning while Matt played basketball I ran a half marathon in Bluffton, IN. It was so fun and a very pretty run. I was running a very good time, possibly a PR for me until mile 11. Then, as other runners understand, my GI system slowed me down and I was not able to finish well. And there were no pottys on the whole route until mile 11.5. Which is not cool. I won't go into much detail, but it wasn't nice. I ended up with a 1:47 but I just know I had a 1:42 in me. I was pretty frustrated. But I think I decided today, along with a friend of mine, to train for my first marathon. Half marathons are getting pretty easy at this point and I think I'm ready. We're talking about doing the Chicago marathon 2010, so I have a whole year to injure myself, or change my mind, or something.
After my run we went to one of our friend's lake house and hung out there for the day. It was very relaxing. Hannah LOVED the boat. Her first time on a boat and I really wish I had my camera. She was so fascinated by the water and all the other boats. She was so cute.
Sunday we went to church and then the zoo with Matt's sister, brother in law, dad, and our nephew Kalen. We had a lot of fun, as the babies were much more interested this time then before.
And then finally on Monday, in honor of Labor Day, I labored. I painted the kitchen and downstairs bathroom. What a project. I finally finished it this morning and I think I'll be able to get the house back together for Hannah's party on Friday.
Tomorrow is Hannah's adoption finalization. I will probably cry when I see her new birth certificate with our names on it as her parents.
Hannah also had her 6 month check up today (at 7.5 months). She is 14.4 lbs (10%), 26.5 in long (50%) and her head is still in the 90%. The doctor did say we are going to need to monitor the size of her head to make sure nothing is wrong. And also he said that we may have to look into a program called First Steps because Hannah won't roll over. Apparently she's supposed to be able to roll all over the floor. Whatever. He commented on how strong she is so she should be doing the army crawl and scooting and stuff. We'll get there Hannah-bear!
Hannah and Kalen. At the beginning, excited to see all the fun animals!
At the end. What a good day!
Oh, and Matt just reminded me that Hannah is saying her first word. Meaning she says da-da. And it's super cute. But she's not quite sure what da-da is. She thinks it's everything. But everytime she says it, Matt says, "Yes, sweetie?" and it cracks me up.
