We had our adoption finalization party last night. Most of the people who have been important to Matt and me and who will be important to Hannah were able to attend (minus Ama and Captain who were in DC changing the world). They were sweet enough to send flowers, which I made sure to take a picture of.
My house is still somewhat of a mess, but I've been so busy getting my house ready for this party that other then coaching a cross country meet all morning, I have decided to do nothing today. Luckily the weather was perfect and most everyone stayed on the deck and outside so my house isn't that bad.
The party was so fun and although we are all getting old and our parties are getting shorter, we were still blessed by the presence and support of our friends and family.
On another topic, I finally got some of the pictures that Matt's sister Suzy took of Hannah and Kalen. Suzy definitely has an artistic eye with photography. We may just end up hiring her for all our family portraits and skip the professionals!
Last random topic before I show some of her pictures... Hannah's doctor informed us that she should be fine eating 3 times a day and eliminating the last 7pm bottle. I was going to attempt it tonight but I have to admit something. I didn't realize how much I was attached to giving her that bottle. I was not sad to kick her out of our bedroom when she was 2 weeks old. I was not sad when she started sleeping through the night, and I definitely never got the chance to experience the breastfeeding bonding. So I'm going to hold on to this special time as long as I can. I can promise she won't be getting a nighttime bottle during kindergarten:)
