Our adoption letter

Just to warn you, some of you are going to find this letter in your mailbox in the next few days...

March 16, 2010

Dear Friends and Family,

As most of you know, we were blessed in 2009 with our first child Hannah Hope. Previously we have been unable to conceive, and instead of pursuing fertility treatments, we felt the Holy Spirit leading us towards investing in adoption. We were on the adoption list just four short days before we got the call that our precious daughter was born and waiting for us at the hospital.

Because of the joy we found in the adoption process and subsequently in our daughter, it is our desire at some point to adopt again. Within the past two weeks, our adoption agency called us even though we weren’t officially “back on the list” to inform us that a birth mother had seen our profile and wanted to meet with us. Despite our finances being tight, we felt the Lord leading us to at least explore this option, knowing that if it was His will, He would provide a way. We applied to several adoption funding agencies, one of them Lifesong for Orphans (www.lifesongfororphans.org), to help ease our financial burden. Lifesong has reviewed our financial statements and has graciously given us a $2,000 matching grant!
As we are writing this letter, we are still unsure as to the status of this adoption. Even if we do not get this particular child, we are hoping the Lord blesses us with a baby in the near future.

Some of you have asked us how you can help support us in our adoptions. You were already exceedingly generous with our first adoption, buying us baby things, coming to showers, bringing us diapers, and most of all, praying for us.
Truthfully, we need your prayers again. We need you to pray that the birth mom will stay safe and healthy and that we will be financially accountable before the Lord and not proceed in any direction without a clear call from Him.
Which brings us to this: if the Lord has laid it on your heart to contribute financially to our adoption, we would encourage you to funnel your donation through Lifesong. The cost of this adoption will be approximately $14,000.
If you would like to be a part of God bringing a child to Himself through our family, you can send your tax-deductible gift between now and May 16, 2010 to the address below. Lifesong is trusted organization and will administer the funds on our behalf and pay adoption expenses out of funds received.

Please make checks payable to Lifesong. You may preference how the donation will be used by writing “Brandenberger adoption #1231” in the memo line.
*Note: In following IRS guidelines, your donation is to the named non-profit organization. This organization retains full discretion over its use, but intends to honor the donor’s suggested use.

Mail checks to:
Lifesong for Orphans
PO Box 40 / 202 N. Ford St

Thank you in advance for your prayers. We will be excited to share with you how God is working in our lives through adoption.
