We were supposed to meet with the birth mom today at 4:30 but we have to postpone the meeting. Apparently the birth mom was in court today and is now an emotional wreck. We have no idea what's going on with that.
Anyway, I guess the whole situation is pretty iffy. So we don't know if we'll ever meet her, given that she is due any day.
We are disappointed, I guess both of us kind of assume we won't be getting this baby now.
However, we know the Lord's in control and there are definite upsides to this. One of them being I was going to spend the afternoon trying to organize a years worth of baby girl clothes in order to prepare a room. But now I can just continue to throw them all over the floor!
I've said this to multiple people, but if the purpose of this was just for Matt and me to get our finances in order, then so be it. We got several applications submitted and now we are just waiting to see if we get any grants.
We also have an account through LifeSong for Orphans where people can donate money, and those donations can be claimed on their taxes next year as charitable giving (more about that to come).
So thanks everyone for your prayers. I would ask that you continue to pray for the birth mom. That she will make her decisions in the best interest of her children.
