I have her monitor on my side of the bed because otherwise I can't hear her, even if she is having a total meltdown/can't catch a breath crying so hard (that happened once and I felt really bad). I heard her numerous times through the night start to squawk and just as I would get up to get a bottle, she would fall back asleep.
So yay.
In other Olivia awesomeness, she's adorable.
In other family awesomeness, we had a great Father's Day. I am blessed in the father department. My father, my husband's father and my heavenly Father. All awesome.
Matt is also an awesome father and partner. I can't imagine doing this parenting thing without him.

This is the book we are trying to read right now. Excellent book. Main theme? You cannot raise children in this culture without spending daily time in the Bible and teaching it to your children.
Second Father's day. With his two sweet girls.
Olivia has excellent head control. So I stuck her in the bumbo and she sat there for 20 minutes.
Hannah was not too sure what to think about the goats at the zoo.
Hannah giving Olivia kisses with rubber kitchen gloves on.
Room still in progress. The drywall man came and repaired all the damaged drywall. I spent a while in there today sanding it down (and subsequently vaccuuming everything in site, including the vaccuum). Hopefully I will get the ceiling painted tomorrow and the walls painted next week. I love how fast we have gotten babies, but I'm not going to lie, sometimes I would like to have time to prepare a room. In our house, we don't simply paint the walls, something always needs major reconstructing.
My sweet girl. Just for the record, she spent the first four weeks of her life crying for the entire night. She still struggles to eat and stay awake, and she cries during the day a lot more than Hannah did. Although I have had two of the most consolable babies ever. They cry? Pick them up and they stop. Sometimes I don't though. Don't judge.

Lastly, another book I'm reading. It's about eating meat, nuts, fruits and veggies. That's it. We just bought 1/4 of a grass fed free range cow and I have 20 processed cage free organic chickens in my freezer. Husband is not sold on it and Hannah loves bread. So it might be a slow change in our household, but we'll see if we can do it.
If you made it to the end of this long post, you get a prize. Either the neck meat of the cow (what am I supposed to do with it?) or a flight here to finish painting the new room. You choose.

Um, sometimes even when you DO have time to prepare, you still don't. Reese's room still has nothing on the walls, the paint cans on the floor from when we painted it, and her big sister sleeping in it. It's kind of embarassing when people want to see it. Also: where did you get the chickens? Also: would you GIVE UP BREAD?????? I mean, I can be all for eating healthy stuff, but I can never give up bread. Also: I am really happy for you that she slept through the night. And I hate you. Great post. I read it all and am really tempted by the neck.
Those two pictures of Olivia are precious. She is darned near edible. Also, I can't believe she slept through the night. That didn't happen for us until six months when I forced him to cry it out three nights in a row. So, yeah. No judgment here.
Yes, Olivia is such a pretty girl!
i am jealous you are getting a good night sleep. maddox was sleeping well until 3 weeks ago and now i am TIRED. the past three nights were so miserable that jeff took him to the doc to see if he had an ear infection. nope, just teeth and major rash issues. which the rash on his body is horrible. nothing we can do about it...eczema
Ok, I read the post. I'll take the neck! First, grass fed-free range is great. We have the same in our freezer. Organic chix... also great! We buy our chix from a butcher and I feel much better than buying it from the store. My husband is somewhat sold on it. He is, however, sold on all organic fruits and veggies - he says he can tell a big difference in the taste of the fruit. So tell Matt that :) (It took a while on the meat!!!) I try to cut out a lot of bread and only give the boys bread-type foods 1-2x's a day vs. every meal. It's hard and you have to get creative. Last... if I could meet Olivia, I would just pinch her cheeks! She is a doll. And Hannah looks ornery, but so darn cute!! I would help you paint, however, I am still trying to get a ceiling fan hung.. time is ticking :)
Oh... and I was going to say... other great books:
1. Shepherding a Child's Heart
2. Everyday Talk
3. Teach Them Diligently
Ok.. good night!
CONGRATULATIONS on sleeping through the night. Trust me, I GET IT. It is a day for celebrating!
I bought a half cow awhile back, and my husband loves the grass-fed extra-beefy flavor. We watched Food Inc. and he said I should get the good chicken too. I didn't get anything labled as neck, but I might just add that to broth, I'd think it would be extra tough.
I've enjoyed reading about your adoptions and seeing your beautiful girls. I hope that if we go the adoption route we'll end up as blessed :)
