Just another day (alt title: Marshall's needs bigger carts)

I just keep telling myself that I am just in the thick of it. In the thick of parenting, cleaning, training, praying, chasing, wiping, napping busyness. Sometimes I sit at the end of the day and think, "What did I do all day?" Or Matt asks me, "What did you do today?" And I usually can't remember a thing. So here you go, a typical Monday.

6:00am: Yes! I finally got up at a decent hour (which might be part of my reason for decided to write this post), did my BSF, got on the treadmill and showered before the girls got up.

8:00am: Girls are yelling in their rooms. I went and got Olivia first and it's so sweet to see her standing in her crib, shaking the slats and grinning from ear to ear. I changed her diaper and then went and got Hannah. Hannah told me she was poopy. She wasn't lying. She ate a lot of blueberries yesterday. Picture that.
I know you are aware we have cloth diapers so I don't separate them. Our diaper changing station has been in our room in a dresser since Olivia was born and I just moved it into Olivia's room yesterday.

8:20ish am: Girls are eating breakfast. I made a healthy cornbread the other day and thought I would try it out for breakfast. Olivia loved it with syrup. Hannah said, "I don't like it. Cheerios please." So Hannah got Cheerios. Most mornings we eat oatmeal with blueberries but sometimes I like to get crazy and eat something else.

8:45-9:30am: Clean up breakfast, break up a couple fights, let the dogs out, clean the downstairs bathroom, start a load of laundry and herd the girls upstairs to change. Make my bed (I have a thing, Matt thinks it's stupid but making my bed makes me feel...complete or something). Olivia cries every time I leave her sight while I'm doing all this. I think I may have been able to use the bathroom during this time too, but there is a good chance I had an audience and they were probably both crying, or dumping out the drawers in my bathroom.

9:30-9:45am: Just trying to get coats on and girls in carseats and get my purse and my coat. Herding cats, remember? I let Hannah take the 10 minutes it takes to put her shoes on herself and thread the strap through. One of the reasons I try as hard as I can to never be in a hurry, so that I can be patient and let Hannah do things herself. So I think I just stood there and held Liv (her dream come true). Oh, and also Hannah had a complete meltdown when she realized I had re-packaged up her new carseat. We were going to return it because we don't like it and Hannah had a fall on the floor freak out. So we also spent a few minutes in her cry chair.

9:50am: Bank and then WalMart to return carseat and get a different one. Hannah wailed for the customer service lady too, "Mama, my caaaaaaarseat!!!!" I had to promise that she would get a new one for her to stop crying. Liv meanwhile is squawking. Not crying, but yelling because she doesn't like to be held down in the grocery cart.

10:15am: Marshall's. Their carts are too small for two kids if you want to buy anything. I bought matching lamps for our bedroom. (Side note: most expensive thing about a new house? Lighting and curtains. I am still buying those things and we've lived here 2.5 years.) Liv is still upset and is trying to claw her way out of the seat. Hannah is screaming that she wants to walk. I pick out two lamps, put one in the cart, hold one and then Hannah has to walk. She throws herself on the floor crying because I don't want to buy her a flowered eyeglass case. A lady asks me if I need her to hold the lamp so that I can hold Hannah. I said no thank you, Hannah and I will just have a quick chat. My quick chat included a threat to spank, and then a bribe of fruit snacks when we get home. It worked. I don't care which part.

11:00am: In the car Olivia is screaming so loudly I pray I don't run into a tree.

11:15am: The girls play by themselves! Definitely getting into everything that can be gotten into (including the drawer under the stove) and tupperware, pans, toys and books are thrown all over the house. Change their diapers.

12:00pm: SpaghettiOs and oranges for lunch. Not proud of the spaghettiOs but whatever. I ate a salad in case you cared.

12:30 - 1:30pm: I really wish I took a picture. I spoke with my mom on the phone for about 30 minutes somewhere in this time and the girls took distruction to a whole new level. I can honestly tell you though, I don't care. My house is clean, it's just messy. Whatever.

1:30pm: NAPTIME! Sorry for the shouting, we (meaning me) love naptime. Change their diapers. Olivia decided to take a really crappy nap and cry at various times for the entire 2.5 hours. I cleaned out all my upstairs food cupboards and completely rearranged and organized my pantry. Whoo hooo! It's like spring is coming folks! I also took a 35 minute nap and cleaned up my children's destruction. I also put the lamps up. They look great.

4:00pm: Are you so tired of reading this yet? Because I don't care. I'm having fun reliving my day. The girls get up. Change their diapers (diapers 7 and 8 in case you weren't counting). I spend 30 minutes redoing Hannah's braids while she watches Toy Story and Olivia does a great job playing beside us. The girls spread out all their toys and books and my tupperware all over the house. Separating all lids from cups and containers and hiding the plastic plates the girls use. Also, I took a bunch of pictures soon to be uploaded.

5ish pm: Matt gets home! This is early! Yay!

5:30pm: Dinner of quesadillas, salad and peas. Peas are yucky, we all decided. I won't buy them anymore.

6:00-6:45pm: Dance party and hide and seek and tickling and playing in mom and dad's room. Matt leaves for BSF.

6:45-7:45pm: Hannah falls off the toilet and cuts her lip. Olivia falls and cuts her chin. They empty the tupperware again. We change diapers, put on jammies, read 4 books and girls are in bed at 8.

8:15: Finished cleaning up the kitchen (except for the tupperware on the floor), cleaned upstairs bathrooms, threw in a load of diapers, took a sleeping pill, updated blog and now it's 9:10. I'm going to bed. I'm sure you are already asleep after all that nonsense.

Seriously, I would love to hear about anyone else's day.

And tupperware is still on the floor. I don't care. Nighty night.

I'm with Nicole who posted above (don't know her, but I'm with her...) I'm exhausted just reading it!! I keep reminding myself that this is just a season of my life and I should enjoy it for what it is. What is with kids throwing everything all over the house? I don't even know how it happens!

I loved this post!!
