A new love

I've mentioned before my love for my fleece sheets. That love may fall pretty close to the line of idolatry. Maybe.
I have a new love. It's my fridge. It's now the most expensive item in my house. So if you break in, please just take the tv and all my jewelry, just not the fridge (or the hardwood floors, that would upset me too). We got an Electrolux. I know, we are so not Electrolux material. Good thing it has a huge dent (that you can't see) in the side which made it almost half off.
What I love:
-Glass shelves
-Quiet. My old fridge ran the whole day and the door wouldn't stay shut.
-Ice and water. We always told our friends we didn't have ice because were celebrating our European heritage (Matt's somewhat German and I am somewhat Irish, the kids are probably not European) (Europe doesn't carry ice, in case you didn't know. At least when I was there. It's a joke).
-Front is not magnetized. My husband has a thing about putting everything on the front of the fridge. It looks messy. Now he can't. Whoo hoo!

Speaking of jewelry, are you suprised this fridge is more expensive than all of my jewels combined? What, you say? Even your wedding set?
Did I forget to tell you I lost my wedding ring? It was back in November. We had it insured and got a nice insurance check.
Working in the diamond business for five years (Helzberg Diamonds to be exact), I knew exactly what I wanted. I wanted a big ring. Big. And high quality because I've seen crap. I mean, I wanted the ring that I've sold for $10,000.
But, I just couldn't mesh that desire with the desire to adopt more children, and the desire to buy groceries. And the shame I would feel knowing I just spent a crapload of money on something silly like a diamond (that has no value outside of the western world. The middle east has it right, they value gold. Something that actually holds value). Stop by Africa and diamonds mean nothing. Thanks DeBeers cartel.
Guess what I bought? Something 1/8th of the price. A moissanite, in white gold. It's huge and well made and awesome. I've had it since December, I just kept forgetting to tell you the story. We spent the rest of the insurance check on Christmas gifts.
Seriously, God can be faithful with finances in multiple ways. You just have to look for it.
This post has turned seriously random.

There she is. My age is showing. I am more excited about this than shoes.

Also today Hannah asked me to take a picture of her and then she did this pose.

The ring. It's moissanite. You would never guess.

Au revoir.

I would have done the same. I was so into diamonds when I got engagement and married, and now, I could care less and just wear my simple band. Actually, just realized I forgot to put it on AGAIN today. Anyways, your fridge is aweomse!!!! I LOVE THAT RING!!!!

I don't know if I'm more impressed by the fridge or the ring. Both are equally awesome in my book. My, how our priorities change...
