Tuesday bullet points

- This morning Hannah wanted to wear her Toy Story panties, which are actually little boy's undies. We were at Target when my mom was here and Hannah picked them out. Knowing that potty training was in our future and knowing cool panties can be an incentive, I was more than happy to buy her the underoos she wanted. She can rock a pair of boy's briefs like nobody's business. And fits perfectly into 12 month pants without the diaper.

- I told Hannah that she would have to go on the potty if she wanted to wear panties and (on the advice of a friend) told her that Woody and Buzz would be very sad if she peed on them. How hilarious is that sentence?? So all morning I reminded Hannah that Woody and Buzz would be very sad if she pooped or peed on them. She even repeated it back to me.

- So we had a very successful day potty training. Hannah got very upset when she couldn't poop on the potty and started crying. It was right before naptime so I put her diaper back on her and sent her to bed. She woke up poopy but from what I've heard, "number 2" on the potty is a bit harder and may come later.

- I've been reading/watching/seeing what other little girls around Hannah's age are doing and it seems that most of them have been interested in and/or already going in the potty for a while now. So I know Hannah is a bit behind in this, but I am so stinkin' proud of her! And already looking forward to only diapering one child. Hopefully the rest of the week goes well.

- I've been noticing a lot of moms talking about their child going on the potty but they didn't really want to start the training. This blew my mind. I knew the second I thought Hannah was interested, we were going to strike while the proverbial iron was hot. Moms, why? If you child is interested and successful going, save yourself the money and time of diapers and just do it!

- Matt took Hannah tonight to a golf match and I had Olivia by herself. That girl is so easy when she is by herself. So is Hannah. Put them together and it's like an explosion of emotion and tears. I loved the one on one time. In fact, Olivia was so independent, she actually got annoyed that I wanted to spend time with her. So I baked some stuff and let her play by herself for almost an hour! But then I did make her read some books with me.

- I only worked one day last week so I was almost a full time stay at home mom. It was pretty awesome. I really think I could quit working two days. But then I go to work and use the education we purchased and really really enjoy it so I know I'll probably never quit.

- Olivia is signing "doggy" and pointed to a lion when I asked her where the lion was. She's a genius.

- We have been really boring lately. Kind of in a (good) funk of playing outside, cleaning, laundry, cooking and parenting.

- Makes my blog super boring.  Not that it was really ever exciting. Except for maybe when we adopt babies. Maybe we need to spice things up and adopt again. Kiddng.

- Maybe I'll answer reader submitted questions. Got any questions? Advice? Comments? Attacks? (just kidding, no attacks please. I'm not sensitive but I can get pretty angry pretty quickly. A fault of mine. Please don't help me sin).

- If no one has questions, advice, comments, and so forth, I'll just keep boring you with the same old same old stories of poop and pee and cute girls. You're choice, people.

Hi there!

Have you girls ever experience sleeping problems (i.e. night terrors)? My friend and her husband adopted their son over a year ago (from Korea), he is a little over 2 years old and has been experiencing a lot of night terrors lately. Just wondering if you've had to deal with anything like that with either of your girls!

Love your blog :)

I don't think Hannah is behind on potty training at all...but maybe that's because I haven't even STARTED working with Nattie on it yet. She has some Hello Kitty undies and she tells us when she goes, but I'm waiting for summer to really start trying. Oh...and love the pictures from the park in the last post! :)

so based off your newest blog post it seems that potty training is going really well!! awesome. i have heard some say that potty training a cloth diaper baby is easier. i would love to hear your opinion on that.

oh Abby, I must tell you, I love reading your blogs! I know that I have told you this already, but I don't think you give yourself enough credit! For one, you are a great writer, and two, you are such a great mom! I don't think much about not having girls until I read your blog. Then, I'm a little envious! You are soooo good with them. I loved your sense of humor in our BSF group and I love it in your blogging! Keep it up, it keeps me entertained!

I love the thought of Hannah running around in little boy undies.

We're in a boring funk, too. It's kind of nice, isn't it?
