A note about today

- I woke up early to work out. Showered, dressed and fed myself before the girls got up.
- I had a couple errands I wanted to run, but didn't need to.
- So when I told Hannah that and she responded with, "Can I stay home?" I decided to stay home.
- I dressed and fed them breakfast. By 9am Hannah was calling to Olivia, "Livi, come upstairs to my room and play!" Livi obeyed.
- I was cleaning up the kitchen and figured I should check on them.
- They were dancing in Hannah's room to praise music. Melt. It's their new favorite thing.
- From 9am until about 10:40am they played together. I checked on them from time to time but there was not one single incident of fighting or crying. Nothing was being destroyed. All I heard was giggles.
- At 10:40 we had a giant household meltdown that lasted until about 11am.
- All was good after that.
- They played together until 1:30 and then obeyed me when I said it was naptime.
- The only reason I am documenting this miraculous morning is because it was miraculous.
- So being the super ambitious person I am, I decided that during naptime I was going to clean the basement (total wreck and I think I'm going to be hosting Thanksgiving for the first time ever and I need as much clean living space available as possible).
- And here I sit on the computer. I can't get myself downstairs. I'm not tired enough to nap. My girls were super easy today, yet I still can't seem to motivate myself enough to clean.
- Sometimes, I just need to sit. Agreed?

We did a fun activity today. We had heard it was all the rage with toddlers and because I want my kids to be popular and cool, we decided we would do it too.
Food coloring, muffin tins, shaving cream, smocks and stirrers (we used measuring spoons).

Everything was going well, until I got a phone call from my mom and stepped away into the kitchen...

I peeked onto the porch and found this.....

And this....

Suddenly I became far more Type A than I thought....
So I obviously needed to take pictures of it. And then I started cleaning Hannah up (they had been at it for probably 20 minutes already so it was about time anyway.)
I took Hannah to the sink and cleaned her off. When I came back for Olivia, she had taken it to the next level.....

We have trick or treat tonight (and we have super cool and (not) clean Goodwill costumes), and we did some pumpkin carving this weekend. So cute pumpkin/candy/fall/crazy pictures are on their way!

Basement...here I come (or not).
