My dad is great enough that a bag of M & M's and a phone call was a good enough present today. I didn't even send him a card (and he sent me to college! I'm so ungrateful).
Thanks dad, for being there.
Matt as a father is good for a lot of things too.....
Teaching Bible verses.
Hand motions to Isaiah 1:17 "Learn to do what is right."
Playing Candyland.
Showing home videos to the girls on his iPhone (and being jumped on).
It was a rough Father's Day afternoon parenting our oldest and I was sad for Matt that we spent the afternoon sending our child to timeout and telling her to chill. But, through it, I was so thankful for the daddy my children have. He was so patient, yet fair. He was just, yet full of mercy. Thanks Matt, for parenting with me.
But we had a couple funny memories today. After church, we both realized that Hannah was chanting, "Oh sweet pea, oh sweet poop." We were dying laughing and we had to tell her that the pea was a food, not a bodily function. I've been calling my girls sweet pea for forever and I laugh out loud just thinking about what Hannah thought I was calling her. Then, Hannah, amid all the drama she presented us with, pulled a Napolean Dynamite with a perfect "gosh". I know....you had to be there. But when Matt and I look back and read this, we'll crack up (and that's what's important).
These pictures were taken in Target the other day. Such posers.
Happy Father's Day. Praise be to our perfect Heavenly Father who is Father to the fatherless.
