Power outages

We were in Ohio this past weekend and lost power at our house, and at my parents house! The same storm that ripped through NE Indiana came straight through South Charleston too. It was bad, 91 mph wind at our local airport.
Anyway, my inlaws rescued my 15 chickens from our feezer, but needed to leave everything else. So I was worried about what would happen to all my hard work of picking and freezing pounds and pounds of blueberries and my stockpile of frozen veggies. I do my best to be a good steward of our resources and if the Lord let the power loss ruin a whole lot of my food and hard work, then so be it. BUT, even after 24 hours of no power, every bit of our food was still frozen solid! What a gift!

Then, on the morning of the 4th, Olivia set her hand on the oven burner that I had been cooking eggs on. Poor girl has a blister on every finger and on the palm of her hand. Good thing we know a doctor. He took her into the clinic and put a pain relieving cream on it and wrapped it in gauze.

You know how much burns hurt, especially the mild ones. If you burn yourself and it doesn't hurt, you'd better get to the ER right away!
Anyway, Liv was just sobbing in my lap for about 30 minutes. We turned on a music video to distract her but it wasn't working.
I decided to pray over her. I asked the Lord to give her the strength to handle her pain, I thanked the Lord that it was a very mild injury and that we have a stove. I said "amen" and Olivia was immediately calm. It was amazing. I really felt the Lord's presence in that moment.

She loved having a hand wrapped up. In fact we just took it off tonight and she cried.

Smile kids! (Hannah having a three yr old attitude)

Who stinks?

Liv has started saying more things we can understand. She now says "beedee" for her blanket. We love hearing her talk!

That has happened to me a couple of times when I have prayed for Max. Prayer is an awesome thing!

I'm sad to see the sock go and I'm a total jerk for not offering to take some of your food. I'm glad it was still good!
