Hannah's birthday started the way all birthdays should, with homemade cinnamon rolls. Well, first we sang happy birthday to her in bed, then we ate the cinnamon rolls.
These are breadmaker cinnamon rolls. If you want the recipe, let me know.
We let Hannah open one present before breakfast, she wanted to put on her Belle dress right away.
So Olivia ran into the toy room shouting "Snow White, Snow White" and she had to put her dress on too.
After breakfast we went to BSF. I pulled her teacher aside and asked if at some point this morning she would wish Hannah happy birthday. She did that, and then told Hannah that before snack, the class would sing her happy birthday. But then Hannah told me after class that they forgot and it made her sad.
After BSF we stopped by Kroger and picked out a birthday cake. Hannah had her heart set on this certain green cake she had seen a few weeks before, and I had prepared her that there might not be a green cake available today. I was surprised and excited to show Hannah there was a green cake! But she didn't care, once she set her eyes on the orange cake, there was no changing her mind. I've said this before, but that's something I really appreciate about her. She looked at all the cakes, picked the one she liked in about 20 seconds and that was that. She never needs to look at any other options, when she makes up her mind, she's done. That's so like me.
Hannah really wanted to go to a Japanese restaurant tonight for her birthday but it really wasn't an option mid-week. So I asked her what she wanted me to cook for her birthday and she chose bbq chicken, broccoli and applesauce.
Great Nana called to wish Hannah happy birthday.
Olivia talked to great Nana and tried to show her her doll baby, not quite understanding this wasn't facetime.
We are practicing four fingers now!
Liv got a couple presents too, not to be left out. Nana bought her a princess Tiana dress for her princess Tiana.
I bought the girls matching Minnie Mouse shoes that (unbeknownst to me) have little heels. Liv is currently wearing them in bed.
The big exciting present was a scooter!
Last night we decorated some of the doorways with streamers. Hannah shouted "carwash" when she saw them. So they played carwash all day and she decided to take her scooter through the carwash.
Olivia loved the scooter too. And the carwash.
More carwash. The girls are so excited for warm weather to play with the scooter outside!
I totally forgot about cake until just the other day. Kroger makes really good cakes!
She also picked out all her birthday decorations and everything was from Tangled.
Happy Birthday sweet girl!

In other Hannah news, we signed her up for preschool in the fall!!! AHHHHHH! I am so not ready for her to go to school! But even as I write that, it's really not true. I'm not ready for time to go flying by like it does once school starts, but I am ready for her to spend a few hours in preschool. She is so ready and I'm kind of wracking my brain trying to keep her mind busy. I've been trying to do some schooling things here at home, but I am a very poor teacher. Her emotional, physical, mental status and her personality are completely ready and I am excited for her to thrive in that environment.
She is already sad she won't be riding the bus and Olivia has already cried when I told her she wasn't going. But then Olivia got really excited when I told her she would stay home with me and the new baby.
Hannah will only be going for three hours for four afternoons a week. She still naps so hopefully by the fall, she will be able to adjust, but I'm fine if I have to make her bedtime right after dinner for a while.
I have a four year old. A sweet, precious, hilarious, dynamic, spirited four year old. I genuinely can't believe it and I know I'll be saying that for every birthday for the rest of my life.
Right, mom?
