Over the weekend I showed Hannah and Olivia a fairly graphic video of a woman giving birth.
Yesterday Hannah asked me if they were going to cut me open to get the baby out. I told her I hoped that wasn't the case, but that happens sometimes.
Then she asked how it was going to come out, was I just going to squeeze it out? I laughed and said "Ummm, yep."
She asked from where. Completely unprepared for that, I told her I would tell her when she was a little older. I was shocked, completely forgetting I had shown her the video.
Tonight we had a little more specific talk about that situation and she seemed satisfied. I am so not ready for this!
We were also talking about her birthday being tomorrow and I asked her if she remembered the video about when the baby came out of the mama. I told her that four years ago tomorrow, she came out of Miss A, just like that.
I could see a little lighbulb coming on, as if she is understanding more about where she came from.
I wonder if four years ago tonight, Miss A was in labor. We know Hannah was born at 4:30pm on Friday the 30th, very quickly after Miss A arrived at the hospital. We know Miss A delivered naturally. We know Hannah was 5lbs 1oz.
I think of Miss A every single day, but especially around Hannah's birthday. Our hearts hurt so much for her, and we are so grateful that she chose life for her beautiful girl.
Hannah, we are so excited to celebrate your hilarious, beautiful life of four years tomorrow. Birthdays for both Miss A and Hannah may be difficult one day, and so we continue to pray for peace and the Lord's hand in both their sweet lives.
We didn't plan anything big this year, but we are so excited for cinnamon rolls for breakfast and yummy cake after Hannah's request of bbq chicken for dinner. Hannah's stoked!

Ha, ha! Riley just asked me how babies come out of mommies tummies 2 days ago. I told her and was nervous. She then declared she only wanted 1 baby. Later that night she was on the floor pretending to push a baby out. Mark was disturbed. I wasn't quite ready for that conversation either :)
